4 day Inca Trail to Machupicchu
Get the most out of your trip to Peru with this 4-day/3-night classic trek on the Inca Trail to the lost city of Machu Picchu high in the cloud forest.
An experienced guide will lead you through grass highlands, diverse tropical mountain forest, and ancient ruins on granite pathways to the stunning lost city of Machu Picchu.
The trail will lead guests through ten ecological zones with diverse scenery from tropical forest to grassy highlands and remnants from the famous civilization found all along the way. A porter will carry most of the gear, so trekkers will only be responsible for a small daypack. The trek will begin in the Sacred Valley on the banks of the Urubamba River and will camp the first night near the quaint Wayllabamba village. The challenging adventure will then ascend to the mountain pass of Warmiwanuska, but this will be more than rewarded by the fantastic views of Huayanay to the east and the Vilcabamba Mountain Range to the west. The group will sleep in the highest campsite of Pacaymayu this night.
The third day will see a second mountain pass by following the Inca Highway to the archaeological site of Sayacmarka and will continue trekking until the Wiñaywayna campsite for the night. On the next day, the travellers will continue to Intipunku, or the Sun Gate, where there will be the first magical glimpse of Machu Picchu from afar. The last stretch of the royal highway will pass quickly as we enter into the intriguing citadel and the lost city that lay as a well-kept secret for four centuries. There will be a guided tour through the city to tell tourists all the interesting facts about this remarkable civilization before returning on the train to Cusco.
